We’ve talked about the massive amount of unemployment fraud that has been occurring in all 50 states, and we’re finally starting to get a real figure of how much money has been stolen from hard working Americans.

With estimates in the range of $36 billion stolen in fraudulent unemployment schemes, these bad apples could be spoiling the whole bunch for claimants in your state.

Bill McCamley, cabinet secretary of the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, explained: “It’s a little bit of a high wire act. Because there’s so much pressure to get money out.”

He also stated: “Not only are they evil thieves, they’re hurting people who need this money in their pocket right now, intensely.”

According to the Texas Workforce Commision, “you can protect yourself from Unemployment Fraud: Never pay to apply for unemployment benefits, Report benefits/payment cards you didn’t request, Monitor your credit & check your credit reports, Report suspected fraud.

I completely agree, and hope that some of these funds can be recouped and distributed to the people that need and deserve them.

Meanwhile, we’ve been talking about the weekly $300 unemployment benefits that are starting to be disbursed, but haven’t heard much about that extra $100 weekly for gig-workers and freelancers.

Michele Evermore, a senior policy analyst at the National Employment Law Project, explained: “It’s really unlikely they’re paying the extra $100. They have to figure out how to get that information from people.”

The new stimulus package shows that employees have to earn at least $5,000 in qualifying self-employment income annually to be eligible for the extra $100 weekly bonus.

To see if you can claim these benefits, contact your local unemployment office and politicians and let them know that you want your extra $100.

Finally, more and more states are paying out the weekly $300 FPUC extended enhanced unemployment benefits.

As of this morning, the following states have started paying out weekly $300: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, and West Virginia.

I’m also hearing that the following states are planning to disburse these extended enhanced unemployment benefits next week: Maine, Montana, South Carolina, Vermont, and Washington.

Congratulations to everyone that has started to see these vital unemployment benefits in their bank accounts, and for everyone still waiting, help is on the way.

If you still haven’t applied for unemployment assistance, get your application in soon.

All you have to do is check out your state’s PUA or UI website, show them your employment history and ID, and let them know that you’ve been out of work due to that thing out there.

For honestly and truthfully answering their questions, you could receive a backdated unemployment check for up to $20,000!

To all of the gig-workers, self employed, independent contractors, 1099 workers, even side hustlers, volunteers and freelancers, the government has your back with the PUA.

Don’t miss out on your chance to receive these amazing government unemployment benefits, as they won’t be around for long.

  7. For people who use to get paid do we need to apply again for the new unemployment pay or we will get paid automatically ?

  8. Pt. 3: Claimants should not file a new claim if they have exhausted benefits, but should continue to request weekly payments. The GDOL will update claimants on next steps as soon as the guidance is received and programming changes are implemented.

Pt. 2: The GDOL is still receiving federal guidance on programming the 11-week extension for over 239,000 claimants who exhausted PEUC and PUA benefits on or before week-ending date 12/26/20.

Pt. 1: If you have exhausted your benefits, do not file a new claim. This will not expedite your payments. We're still receiving federal guidance on programming the extension for those claimants who have exhausted PEUC and PUA benefits on or before week-ending date 12/26/20.
