I know how difficult it can be in the first few months to get rid of the alcohol habit. The HabitsV2 program (click the link above) offers a balance of step by step tutorials and face to face sessions to help you prepare to stop drinking, stop the flow of alcohol, break the habit, and start building the best possible version of yourself. You know when something is right to do. Many people will fall into self-deceit and hide the motivation from themselves. This only nibbles away at the edges of your self-esteem, which affects how you think and feel, and sets you up for viscious cycles of more of the same. Listening to what’s going on in your head is a massive first step to taking massive action.
Here’s a bit of what motivated me to finally stop poisoning myself.

No biological kids just by marriage. Struggling. Alcohol is the norm. My husband doesn’t and never drank his father was an alcoholic. Mine wasn’t. Neither was my mother. My rebellious nature only. Not my brother. Why? And now how to permanently stop? Very hard. Some luck, some not. I need a kid like you fortunately had but I don’t snd never will. But I need one worse than ever. A reason like you did. A reason……

  8. I wanted change. New baby. Read Alan Carr’s book in hopes of lowering my drinking frequency but it obliterated all cravings I’ve ever had for alcohol. Can’t recommend that book enough!

120 days sober and no cravings

  9. πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’ͺπŸ‘ I agree, you don't need "New Years" or anything, just one day, "This is it. I'm DONE." That's all it takes.

  10. Into my 9th year free from AlcoHELL, only addiction now is running. So many regrets of wasted years though, it really does get to me sometimes.

  11. Life is a thinking person's game. You miss an awful lot in a stupor and the subsequent fog. I'm thankful and I enjoyed your video!

Packing the drink in is the best move for anyone even if you slip up just dust yourself down and start again. You will succeed in the end.

  15. You are fortunate that you made such a connection, Kevin, and then took yourself into action. For me, it was so much more dramatic and damaging. After several attempts at quitting, my personal consequences had to be so painful, my losses so huge, that it was stopping drinking or dying right then and there. My 4 year anniversary is coming up which is always a tricky time being in December with the holidays. I have been rebuilding my life and self-esteem while attempting to bridge the chasm between my child and me which is a slow and often disheartening process, but still a labour of love. This work would be impossible without sobriety. Learning to live a happy, peaceful life as a sober person at long last was the most important decision I have ever committed to, and it is my sincere wish that anybody considering the option of living a cleaner, healthier life to please not wait until the extreme occurs. Some folks never make it back. If we listen to that little voice in our heads attempting to steer us in a better way the rewards are boundless and endless. Thanks again for all you do. Straight talk is always in order. You and your work are most treasured.

I saw a grown up alcoholic man get wasted n poop n sit in it n slept it off then acted like nothing ever happened in the mrg. I had a pic of him naked sitting in his poop. Did that make him stop ?? Nope.

I was a heavy drinker for years, and one day I just didn't want it anymore. It was a very exciting feeling. There comes a point or a certain experience people have with this drug that changes how they view alcohol. I went from half a bottle of 101 proof bourbon a day to no alcohol at all. I can remember standing there in my washroom with a hangover and looking at myself and really SEEING what i have become. It was weird, like i wasnt looking at myself. So that very day i committed to quitting. It truly is amazing being free of the drug.
