The great state of Michigan has been experiencing some significant unemployment issues recently, and now, some claimants aren’t able to login to their accounts to file weekly claims or check the status of their benefits.
While the state did offer some good news in the form of completed updates for the PUA and PEUC unemployment benefits, many claimants saw error messages and system crashes earlier today.
According to the state’s unemployment Twitter: “MiLogin is experiencing slowness this morning causing some users the inability to connect. [We’re] working to resolve the issue and will provide an update when it is back to normal operating speeds.”
Hopefully these are just minor glitches that won’t impact payments for thousands of Michiganders, but let me know in the comments if you are facing this issue in Michigan or anywhere else across America.
Meanwhile, to all of my viewers in the great state of Texas, you could miss out on your weekly $300 FPUC unemployment benefits if you don’t follow one particular instruction.
James Bernsen, from the Texas Workforce Commission, explained that if you have not received your extended benefits: “They will get a message that says, ‘You’re back in the system. You can begin requesting payments again.’”
He also noted that unemployment claimants need to request payments every 2 weeks, stating: “When people stop requesting payments, they’re essentially telling us ‘I don’t need payments. I have a job or don’t need payments anymore.”
Fortunately, Bernsen assured unemployment claimants that they would not miss out on any payments, saying: “your benefits will be backdated to the last week of December.”
This is great news to all of my followers in the Lone Star State! Make sure to be on the lookout for a reactivation message, and don’t forget to claim your funds every 2 weeks.
Finally, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) made a very encouraging announcement today, upgrading the economy and GDP to recover “rapidly.”
While they did state that the labor force won’t likely be fully recovered until 2022, they do believe that the US economy and jobs for millions of Americans will be on the rise throughout this year.
The CBO aims for: “Real GDP to grow 3.7% in 2021, GDP growth to average 2.6% over the next five years, The unemployment rate to fall to 5.3% in 2021, and further to 4% between 2024 and 2025 and more.”
They also explained why they decided to upgrade: “the downturn was not as severe as expected and because the first stage of the recovery took place sooner and was stronger than expected.”
If you still haven’t applied for unemployment assistance, start the week on the right foot and apply today.
Check out your state’s PUA or UI website, show them your employment history and identifying documents, and explain that you’ve been out of work due to that thing out there if that’s the case.
For honestly and truthfully answering their questions, you could receive a backdated unemployment check for up to $20,000.
For all of the gig-workers, self employed, independent contractors, 1099 workers, even side hustlers, volunteers and freelancers, you can get these unemployment benefits through the PUA in your state.
