“The acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) epidemic has had a substantial impact on the health and economy of many nations (1). Since the first AIDS cases were reported in the United States in June 1981, the number of cases and deaths among persons with AIDS increased rapidly during the 1980s followed by substantial declines in new cases and deaths in the late 1990s. This report describes the changes in the characteristics of persons with AIDS since 1981.”

FDA Lifts Lifetime Ban On Gay Men Donating Blood
http://www.cnn.com/2015/12/21/health/fda-gay-men-blood-donation-changes/
“”The FDA is changing its recommendation that men who have sex with men (MSM) be indefinitely deferred . . . to 12 months since the last sexual contact with another man,” the administration announced Monday.
This final guidance from the FDA is the culmination of several years of scientific research as well as consultation with external advisory committees and other government agencies.”

Joint Statement on ACBTSA Recommendation to Change MSM Deferral Policy
http://www.aabb.org/advocacy/statements/Pages/statement141114.aspx
“AABB, America’s Blood Centers and the American Red Cross support the recommendation that the FDA amend the current indefinite deferral of MSM to a 12-month deferral. This change in policy would align the donor deferral period for MSM with criteria for other activities that may pose a similar risk of transfusion-transmissible infections.”

HIV among Gay and Bisexual Men
https://www.cdc.gov/nchhstp/newsroom/docs/factsheets/cdc-msm-508.pdf
“Gay and bisexual men — referred to in CDC surveillance systems as men who have sex with men (MSM) — of all races continue to be the risk group most severely affected by HIV. CDC’s most recent data show that between 2008 and 2010, the number of new infections among MSM increased 12 percent, with an even steeper increase among the youngest MSM. ”

I don’t donate blood because if I faint when they take a few ml for blood analysis can you imagine how I would feel with a whole liter taken out of me? 😂.

  2. Josh Hazelhurst

Take it and screen it thoroughly

  3. I don’t want gay blood. 1. I am agnostic, but gotta play it safe bc it’s illegal in islam.

  5. Andwele Harris

eazy E had 10 kids with over 7 women………the reporter asked him if he's not afraid of AIDS.
    his response: "nah…I mean…I'm not a homosexual."

  6. Maybe you shouldn't be one then

  10. The Sensual World

Can a HIV indetectable person donate blood?

  11. Create Seventyeight

In Australia I know they are very careful with their screening. I got into a relationship with a regular blood donor. I had to fill out a form to determine my risk. We were in a male-female relationship. After that, he was unable to donate blood for a period of time. I felt like, 'Oh man, what is wrong with me?' but I then realised it's not personal, it's just a screening process.

  12. I'm also Gay 😊
And recently I also donate blood 😊😊😊😊

  13. Sword Against Chaos

Gay men are notoriously more promiscuous than straight men. And that’s saying something.

  14. The penis was not designed to be thrust up a woman's butt, MUCH LESS A MAN'S BUTT!!!
    0 BUTTS GIVEN!!

  15. Let's see…Would you like to recieve blood from a gay person?

    Like -> No
    Comment -> Yes, and why

    Please, be honest.

  16. Remember, gay people brought us AIDS

  17. Gabriel Garza

This is how you get Aids: You take an aids test, it randomly tells you you're infected, you take the medicine and you start dying. The truth is that the medicine kills you. There is no such thing as aids.

  18. Lucas Henriques

look at the lords truth coming out !!! HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

  19. Joshua ijaola

Maybe I’m missing something here but what does being gay have to do with hiv? Can’t straight couples get hiv as well?

  20. project silvio

there is a simple answer: they don’t want to spread the big gay

  21. faithra khajiit

obviously if a straight man takes blood from a gay man who has had sex with another man in less than 12 months, he has a great chance of becoming gay too, that is the excuse of imposing abstinence from gay sex for 12 months
    .

  22. So yes, it is prejudice basically.

  23. Because people are ingorant af and think only gay people can transmit h.i.v but h.i.v started in the straight community and they gave it to us.

  27. Decipher Code

I think it's okay to give blood, providing there is a screening of the blood before storing and distributing. Also, isn't there a sterilization process?

  28. Also MSM are 17 times more likely to get STDs. You forgot that part.

  29. Isma'il Muslim

    Came for the comments.

  30. Jean Morrice

  38. Sheldon Patrick

Well they banned me for giving out blood cuz I’m gay.. and this was during basic training for the army…

  39. Christobanistan

Yeah, he's drastically overstating the effectiveness of screening. HIV antibodies aren't initially detectable because they need to exist in the body for quite some time to multiply to detectable levels, and for homosexuals the risk we won't detect it because it's too early is 40 times higher. The reason our blood is some of the cleanest is BECAUSE we ban high risk groups from donating. And since they're only 2% of the population, the most reward we could get from shortening the waiting period is less than 1%, while the risk is extremely high in comparison.

Sorry, but this is political correctness.

  40. Fallen Colossi

    Julian my man, you look…..innocent…

how many years already, got yourself laid already?
